/twitter

twitter has jumped the shark. in my mind it has become what it was destined to become: a way for celebrities of all stripes to connect with their fanbase. and it is excellent and revolutionary for doing that. it not so excellent for common-person communication.

but more importantly,

1. how do i know that twitter has jumped the shark?

2. does anyone agree with me?

3. do these people that agree with me agree with my other insights?

4. what do these insights mean for twitter and the www community in general?

5. how do you monetize these insights? (just kidding)

these are the things i hope to research someday. at least if you asked me “what would you like to research” today. tomorrow could be something totally different.

seriously, what was HomeSite? http://www.kottke.org/09/07/homesite-rip

i’m guessing that i started coding html after HomeSite was largely popular.

i now am nostalgic for it even though i don’t ever remember using it.

Scoble predicts explains the end problems of friendfeed:
http://www.google.com/reader/view/?tab=cy#stream/feed%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.scobleizer.com%2Ffeed%2F

this is one of those watershed moments where one realizes that it doesn’t matter how well something is designed, if it doesn’t catch on then it just doesn’t catch on.

good job Scoble; supporting the good guys is still really important.
